Welcome to matchy.gg. By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. What is matchy.gg?

matchy.gg is a gamer matchmaking platform — not a dating service. Our purpose is to connect gamers who share similar game libraries, playstyles, and interests so they can play together. We use Steam profile data to calculate compatibility and facilitate meaningful connections.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use matchy.gg. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. Accounts found to belong to minors will be permanently terminated. You must also have a valid Steam account in good standing to use this service.

3. Your Account

You authenticate through Steam OpenID — we do not store your Steam password. You are responsible for keeping your Steam account secure. Your matchy.gg profile is tied to your Steam account and cannot be transferred to another Steam account. You may only create one account per Steam ID.

4. Profile and Content

You are responsible for the information you provide on your profile, including your bio, age, and any other details. You agree not to:

• Provide false information or misrepresent your identity
• Upload offensive, hateful, or illegal content
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Use the platform for any commercial solicitation or advertising

Your Steam avatar and display name are pulled automatically from Steam and are not editable on matchy.gg.

5. Matching and Contact Information

When two users mutually like each other, a match is created. Upon matching, both parties' Discord username and Steam profile URL are revealed to each other. By providing your Discord username and creating a match, you consent to sharing this information with matched users. You are solely responsible for any interactions that occur outside of matchy.gg.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use matchy.gg to:

• Harass, bully, threaten, or harm other users
• Send spam, unsolicited messages, or commercial content
• Scrape, crawl, or collect data from the platform by automated means
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or interfere with the platform
• Create fake or bot accounts (except authorized platform bots)
• Engage in any illegal activity through or related to the platform

7. Blocking and Reporting

You may block any user at any time, which will prevent them from appearing in your discovery feed and vice versa. You may report users who violate these Terms. We review reports and reserve the right to take action, including warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans.

8. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Upon deletion, your profile data, matches, and swipe history will be permanently removed. We may suspend or terminate your account without notice if you violate these Terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or if required by law.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

matchy.gg is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that you will find a match, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that any connections made through the platform will be successful. We are not responsible for the conduct of users on or off the platform.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, matchy.gg and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including any interactions with other users.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We will note the last updated date at the top of this page.
